Last week I mentioned that during Dragonmeet Ed was inspired to create a new game. At that time I was told just that the game revolved around the power of words. That was super mysterious and had me wondering just what it would look like. This week, Ed has taken pity on us and is revealing some details of this brand new concept!
Era: Hush (working title) will be a fantasy style game where warriors are astrally projected into an environment similar to the Norse Isle of Silence. They will have to earn their names, at least the letters of them, by completing a series of challenges. Some of these challenges will be combat related, some will be riddles and there will also be a score of other miscellaneous tasks. As you achieve each letter, your warrior will be rewarded with a special power.
Now here’s the tricky bit. Until you’ve earned a letter, you can’t speak that letter in character. Sounds difficult, right? So that means, no communication between the party except using mime! This game has got a really unique twist and we think it’s going to be a ton of fun to play. That’s all I know about this project so far but once I get more information on development I’ll be sure to pass it along.
Have you been keeping up with Ed’s development blog? He’s posted something there every week so far and it’s definitely worth checking out whether you’re a game developer or you just want to know what kinds of things Ed gets up to each week. If you have any questions or you’ve got ideas for things that he should talk about please send us an email or post something in the comments to let us know!
That’s it for me, I’m off again until next time!
