Hi everyone!
Onto the third day, and we have: What gives a game staying power?
I think that staying power stems from adaptability within a game. Eventually, all groups tire of playing exactly the same thing every time.
I think if you want a game to stay, you need to have the adaptability that you see within those that are very successful over long periods of times – the huge world(s) of D&D, the different environments and cities across the landscape and different types of people and creatures.
This is very much a basis for my design work as well – Era games try to offer a wide range of opportunities, because they are the games that I play in my own time!
