Era: Marscape – Surviving Together

Era: Marscape has 10 days left on Kickstarter, and I wanted to talk to you today about why I made it: to me, it represents something a little different for Tabletop RPGs.

Most RPGs focus on individual heroes. It’s about their abilities, their stories, and their personal benefit, especially in Combat. Era: Marscape takes a different approach – it’s built around squad strategies, where survival depends not on what one character can do, but on how the group works together.

On a Demon-infested Mars, individual brilliance isn’t enough. Resources are limited, environments are hostile, and threats rarely come one at a time. Success comes from coordination, planning, and understanding how each member of the team supports the others.

You survive together or not at all.

Every mechanic and design choice reinforces cooperation and shared decision-making, creating a tabletop experience that feels closer to a coordinated mission than a collection of solo stories which happen to cross over. You grow together, not separately.
